Leadville Ski Joring & Crystal Carnival

When: March 6-8

Check out some good old fashioned skijoring in Leadville this weekend. What is skijoring you might ask? Well it’s a winter sport where a person on skis in pulled by a horse, dogs, or a vehicle.

In Leadville this weekend you can watch, or even enter in as a horse or ski rider. Watch as the horses pull skiers over jumps and spears rings.

Kids can join in on the fun and try ski joring behind a snowmobile

Friday, March 6
6-8 p.m. – Registration for Saturday – Elks Lodge

Saturday, March 7
7-11 a.m. – Pancake Breakfast, Elks Lodge
9:30 a.m. – The Calcutta – Announcer Stand on Harrison Avenue
11:45 a.m. – The National Anthem
High Noon – First Horse on the Avenue with runs to follow in this order: Legends Division, Sport Division, Open Division, Snowmobile Division
3 p.m. Kids Event
5 p.m. Awards Ceremony, Elks Lodge
6-8 p.m. Registration for Sunday, Elks Lodge
8 p.m. – Live Music with Union Gray at the Elks Lodge

Sunday, March 8
7-11 a.m. – Pancake Breakfast, Elks Lodge

The Colorado Rapids are at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park this Saturday March 7^th for their 2020 Home Opener. Get your tickets at Altitude Sports.

When: March 5-8

Pints for Pigs

Where: Resolute Brewing Company

When: March 7^th, 12PM-4PM

Resolute Brewing Company and Hog Haven Farm is coming together to celebrate National Pig day this Saturday March 7^th from 12-4. Enjoy a beer on Resolute’s fancy new patio while participating in various charitable activities including:

Barstool Racing

Where: Little Beach Park in Minturn

When: Saturday, March 7^th from 12PM-3PM

Teams will compete for the “Golden Barstool” racing barstools down a hill with skis or snowboards mounted to the bottom. Team entry is closed but all of the teams entry fees benefit the Minturn Community Fund Programs.

Polar Plunge

Where: Fort Collins and Boulder Saturday March 7^th

Fort Collins: 10AM Registration 1PM plunge at Maxline Brewing

Boulder: 11:30AM Registration 1PM plunge at Boulder Reservoir

Ready to jump into some freezing water? 2 locations are hosting the Polar Plunge this Saturday, so don’t miss out! The polar plunge helps bring opportunity and inclusion to over 25,000 special Olympics athletes across Colorado.

Custom & Classic Motorcycle & Car Show

Where: Colorado Springs Events Center

When: March 7^th 9AM-6PM and 8^th 10AM-5PM

It’s the 30^th annual Super Show in a new 80,000+ square foot facility. Events include a huge charity auction, over 200 vendors, live music, beer garden, great food, and as an added bonus, The 28^th Annual Colorado Tattoo Competition.

The Tattoo competition registration begins Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 10-12. Contest starts at 1:00 PM on Sunday.

The competition is the largest and longest standing exposition of personal body art in Colorado!
